Adult Services Librarian  

The West Caldwell Public Library is seeking a dynamic, community-focused individual who is tech savvy and works well in a team environment. This position requires knowledge and interest in new library trends and technology, excellent reference skills, flexibility to embrace new projects, and a good sense of humor.


  • Updating pages on the library website (WordPress)
  • Creating e- newsletters 
  • Managing the art gallery
  • Managing the Library’s social media accounts and creating thoughtful and consistent posts
  • Drafting press releases 
  • Flexibility to assist at any public service desk or department
  • Serving as the liaison between the library and BCCLS tech support
  • Collection development 
  • Performing other duties as assigned for an evolving and growing library


  • The candidate must possess a MLS from an ALA accredited institution. We will consider a student currently pursuing their MLS.
  • NJ Professional Librarian’s certificate issued by Thomas Edison State University
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work harmoniously with library patrons and our team members.
  • Ability to recognize and set priorities and to use initiative and independent judgment in a variety of situations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, patrons, user groups, community organizations, and volunteer groups 

The schedule for this position is 35 hours per week, including a regular evening and a Saturday on a rotating basis. This is a full-time salaried position ($60,000).
