The West Caldwell Public Library is open for use to everyone. To check out books or other materials, a patron must have a card registered with the West Caldwell Public Library or a card from a BCCLS participating library.
Anyone who lives in, owns property, or tenants in the Township of West Caldwell is entitled to a free library card with current proof of residency. Your library card must be renewed every (3) years as a resident.
Current proof of residency includes:
Driver’s License
Utility Bill
Tax Bill
Bank Statement
Lease or Rent Receipt
A Resident Card Membership allows you access to a range of services:
Non-residents who are not employed in West Caldwell and do not live in an area with a library that participates in open borrowing may pay for a “Paid Card.” All paid non-resident cards must be renewed annually.
Fees are as follows:
Individual/Family: $250 (annually) $65 (3 months)
Seniors (62 & up): $150 (annually) $40 (3 months)
To get a Paid Card, you must bring the following to the library:
A Photo ID
Checkbook or Cash (Credit or Bank Cards currently not accepted)
Courtesy Cards
Non-residents who are employed in West Caldwell may receive a “Courtesy Card” at no charge with proof of local employment. All courtesy cards must be renewed annually. Proof of employment must be a pay stub with employer’s address and/or a letter from employer verifying local employment.
To get a Courtesy Card, you must bring the following to the library:
A Photo ID
Proof of Employment (printed pay stub and/or employer verification letter)
For Axis 360 access and free eBooks, you must have a valid PIN number. PIN numbers can be acquired in person only at the Circulation Desk.
